The Akashic Records, also known as The Book of Life, is compared to an energetic library located in the 8th Dimension that documents everything that ever existed in the Universe.  As an Akashic Records Reader or Practitioner, I access this library through meditation, and with your permission, open your soul profile with the intention to learn information that will be empowering and helpful to you.  The Akashic Gatekeepers and Guides (you can think of them as The Librarians), both mine and yours, are there to support you, and they will only reveal information to me that will be pertinent to your life at this point in time to help you live your best life and highest purpose right now.

That being said, each person's “File” is unique and expansive, and in each reading, it’s like I’m reading a few pages or a few chapters, so to maximize the session, I encourage all seekers to focus on a few specific intentions or goals for the reading which will guide the session. You are a sovereign being: you choose your own adventure and what you would like to do with this information from the reading.
