2025 Year of the Wood Snake: Archetypes, Symbolism & channeled messages
Happy 2025, and I hope you are having a great day so far. A warm welcome back to my channel, and if you are new here, to my blog and to my channel I discuss esoteric and mystical topics, specifically ones that intersect spirituality, science and creativity, with the goal to support you as creative & conscientious people in our global world or should I stay multidimensional and intergalactic world now. Today I’m discussing the upcoming Year of the Wood Snake (Jan 29, 2025) where I share intuitive, channeled information based on the Elements, Archetypes and, Patterns that I’ve syncretized together, similar to what I’ve done for the Wood Dragon Year (Link!) that I hope you will find interesting. I also have a video on Reframing Divination as an “Events Update” which I hope you will be curious to check out & watch. You know, prediction or forecast videos do really well on youtube, but that is not my wheelhouse. Chinese Zodiac, like other branches of astrology, you would need to have your BaZi Chart done with your birthdate, location and time of birth, much like a Natal Chart, but using the BaZi, The Four Pillars of Destiny system which includes the WuXing and a Taoist practice. It’s a form of statistical divination tool, and if you want to dive deeper, I recommend trying it out with a reputable practitioner. My stance is that I think it is useful if you ascribe to that system of divination tools, whether it’s BaZi, Astrology, Iching, Gene Keys, Human Design, etc.
We are wrapping up the Wood Dragon Year which was a Yang year, and we are approaching the Wood Snake year which is an Yin Year 乙巳ㄧˇ ㄙˋ. To start the traditional Chinese root word of “巳” which is snake, and you can hear it in the sound too - Si - the shape is also based on a fetus in the womb, I don’t know if you can see it, but I figured it was worth mentioning that the character itself, already has a tie-in to Fertility, or a growing Fetus, or let’s say, a project that is brewing, coming into fruition.
The snake symbolizes a variety of things across cultures. Snakes represent fertility, birth and rebirth, regeneration, virility, you know, a phallic symbol, but also wisdom, longevity, transformation, alchemy, the kundalini, wealth and abundance. You may have seen the ouroboros, which is a snake eating its own tail - it is seen in ancient egyptian and Greek magical texts, gnostics and hermeticists and alchemist, and in Taoism too, it represents the yin & yang, duality and unity at once, the cycle of destruction and creation, and self reflexivity which is the act of examining your belief, actions and perceptions - essentially, looking inwards. We also see snakes on The Caduceus, which is the staff of Hermes and used as a symbol in the medical field in the U.S.
As the snake crawls on the earth, and they are also nocturnal, and so they are generally considered Yin, and the Wood Snake being a Yin year, it naturally encourages you to look at the Yin side - or Divine Feminine side. Whether it’s your intuition, your emotions, or rest or recovery, the Wood Snake is encouraging you to take the time that you need to transform, to shed your old skin, and to re-emerge anew. As you may know, snakes like other reptiles can regenerate their intestines. You can say every moment is an opportunity to major transformation, but this coming year naturally invites you to “incubate.”
One last fun tidbit, in Taiwan, we have a deity TudiGong, The God who blesses the Soil, and I think of him as the Local Police Chief who is in charge of taking care of a region. People would go to the temple and pray for loss items, or missing persons to be found, and also for prosperity. It is said in folklore that if you have a dream of a snake, it means TudiGong is coming to bring you wealth and abundance. He works alongside his wife, TudiPuo, and they go to her for women’s issues, fertility, children and family issues. The snake is also looked upon as the Dragon of the Earth, and so symbolically, we put Snakes in a venerable place.
Now that we have an overview of the Snake, aka the set-up or background information, now let’s get into my channeled information, and I’m only sharing approved information. I like you to pull up your favorite trinity symbol of choice, and then think of the Ouroboros and the snake. Let’s look at it as a triad - Birth, Death, Rebirth cycle, which for the snake the death is like a reprieve when it is transforming and shedding its skin, and after it sheds the skin, it’s a rebirth and so it’s represents a whole cycle. This is why it’s 1+1=3. The theme that continues from the Wood Dragon year is the dismantling of systems, breaking down and freeing ourselves from old scripts, programming, or socialization, that don’t align with our collective consciousness. The energy is of dismantling or disrupting empires and systems, loosening an older, darker grip on us that prevented the growth that we were meant to have as a collective. The Wood energy is what breaks up Earth in the Wuxing system - think about the roots, it has the power to dig through rock and earth, and transmute minerals into nutrients that become plant matter. Wood has the energy to up-root and transform, but it is generally much more gentle or slower transmutation; think about gentle persuasion and gradual transformation, compared with that fire energy, like we see in conflict, arguments, in war, bombs etc.
Well, a major event happened in Fall of 2022 - I’ll let you piece together which event that is - and it literally loosened up the Earth’s Kundalini energy centers or chakra points. So we have Kundalini in our bodies, and Gaia, Earth, is a living breathing organism, she also has Kundalini energy points that were incapacitated. It was like a large Creature’s Claws holding down Mother Earth’s Kundalini energy, pinning her down, not allowing her to flow, but as our collective consciousness had shifted from 2020-2022, we kicked this Creature Off, and if you may have noticed, that everything is happening faster all of a sudden since then. If you are a fellow light worker and gridworker, you may have noticed the huge shift in 2022, like a sigh of relief, and more flow. An example, towards end of 2022 ChatGPT launched, an uptick on war & conflicts in 2023 extending to 2024, extreme weather patterns in 2024, PDiddy & sex crimes coming to light, the U.S. election, South Korea martial Law end of 2024, the plane crash, and recent and ongoing fires in Los Angeles.
So back to the Snake Trinity, what we witnessed and will continue witnessing, is the Power, Privilege and Prejudice getting dismantled.
The rate and pace of changes has been accelerating. Change is good, but change is often challenging, and so for a little while, it’s going to look bad, before it starts to get better. If we look at the image of the snake shedding its skin, it’s almost like - is it dying? Is it going to be OK? It’s not moving! It’s just a necessary process, like a rebirthing process. Regimes and old Empires are - should we say, transforming. And so this Yin Wood Snake year is a great time for introspection, for incubating and preparing yourself to re-emerge anew. The snake is for the spine as well, for alignment - it’s a good opportunity to look at what serves you and what may align better with your goals and your purpose. Tap into your Divine Feminine Energy. It’s like doing Yin Yoga - being gentle, a little more passive, holding poses for a longer time for relaxation, introspection, release of tension. Think of the Wood Dragon year as a series of a lot of Sun Salutations, and you’ve earned your stretching time and savasana time! It doesn’t mean be passive and hibernate for a year, although I know it’s still the middle of January as I’m recording this and it already feels like 2 months have elapsed!
My Council and my Dragons want me to relay that it may be a good idea to fill in the Triad or Trinity that aligns closest to your mission and vision, and fill in your intentions that you may want to consider focusing on for the Wood Snake year. That will provide 3 strong pillars for you to aspire to.
